Masters Student

Munazza Khan earned her BS in Biomedical Sciences from Gulf Medical University, where she conducted undergraduate research on p53-reactivating agents in triple-negative breast cancer cells. She is currently a master’s student in the Cancer Biology program at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center UTHealth Houston Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. Her research focuses on novel breast cancer brain metastasis promoting microRNAs and investigating their mechanism with the aim of identifying predictive, diagnostic, or prognostic biomarkers. As GSBS Outreach Coordinator, Munazza engages young students through initiatives like the DeBakey Cell Lab Internship and Science Night. She was also elected to the Student Success and Well-Being Committee, where she advocates for the needs of graduate students. Recognized for her academic excellence and research presentations, Munazza has received awards throughout her academic career. Outside the lab, she enjoys hiking and exploring art museums, balancing her dedication to research with community engagement and personal growth.
